Shield machine

Challenge: The cutter plate panel, screw conveyor blade, slag chamber partition and other parts of the shield machine face high-intensity cutting and scouring abrasion from pebbles, gravel, and rock strata during the digging process, which requires extremely high wear resistance and overall strength of the material.

Solution: NM450/NM500/EH500 series of wear-resistant steel plates, with high hardness and good weldability, are used to manufacture or reinforce the cutter plate and screw machine blade, which can effectively resist abrasion and ensure the stability of the shield machine in long-distance digging.

Case Effectiveness: In a city metro tunnel project, the shield machine using key components of wear-resistant steel plate successfully traversed a high-strength quartz sandstone stratum. After testing, the wear of the cutter plate panel was much lower than expected, which ensured the one-time smooth passage of the 5km interval, avoided the risk of shutting down and opening the cabin due to excessive wear of the cutter plate, and guaranteed the project node.
